Legal documents for the Flow and Amanah apps.
Effective: 2026-05-30
These Terms govern your use of the Amanah mobile application (“the App”).
The App is a personal-expense and budget tracker built for Muslim users. It runs entirely on your device, has no account, and does not move money. It is not a bank, payment processor, lender, or investment platform. It does not give financial, tax, legal, or religious advice.
The App’s Islamic features — including the zakat calculator, nisab thresholds, Hawl tracking, halal-status tagging on transactions, sadaqa logging, prayer-time computations, and Hijri date display — are tools to help you organize your own records. They are informational only. They are not certified by any religious authority. Consult a qualified scholar (mufti or mazhab-aligned advisor) before relying on a calculation for any actual religious obligation, including the determination of zakat owed, the permissibility of a transaction, or the timing of your Hawl.
You are granted a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for personal non-commercial use. You may not:
You are responsible for the data you enter. Because the App stores data locally and provides no cloud sync, the App developer cannot recover your data if it is lost, deleted, or your device is damaged. We strongly recommend you periodically use Settings → Data → Export to save a JSON or CSV copy somewhere you control. You may also export monthly or yearly PDF reports for record-keeping.
The App is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied — including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of calculations, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent allowed by applicable law, the developer disclaims all liability for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the App.
Calculations performed by the App, including but not limited to budget tracking, currency conversion, cashflow forecasts, debt payoff projections, prayer times, Hijri dates, nisab thresholds, and the zakat calculator, are informational. The developer is not liable for any difference between a calculated value and a determination by a financial institution, tax authority, or religious authority.
If you opt in to features that require network access (FX rates, Nisab Refresh), requests are made to the third-party services listed in our Privacy Policy. Your use of those services and the data they return is subject to each provider’s terms. The App developer has no control over third-party services.
Apple’s App Store and Google Play distribute the App and have their own terms of use (Apple Media Services Terms and Google Play Terms of Service). Those terms apply alongside these Terms.
The developer may update these Terms. The current version is always at this URL. Continued use of the App after a change constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the developer’s country of residence, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in that jurisdiction.
